The arts inspire, build community and belonging, and, most importantly, boost a region’s economic vitality. Harnessing the power of the arts is possible when a region has a robust foundation of arts advocates, coalitions, and organizations willing to do the groundwork in eliminating roadblocks that prevent their region from flourishing.

In 2019, two arts and culture powerhouses in Colorado, joined together to commission a four-year study on the state of Colorado’s film industry. Using CVSuite data to better understand the needs, opportunities, and challenges artists in the film industry face, Colorado Creative Industries and Denver Arts & Venues concluded that Denver and Colorado’s film industry had provided substantial economic advantages to the city and state, but due to the pandemic and lack of programs and opportunities for artists, movement remained stagnant for creative workers in the industry for the past couple of years.

This report dives into strategies and recommendations on how to close the gap for artists being impacted by these issues and how to build on Denver and Colorado’s potential to establish a vibrant creative economy for all. Click the link below to view the full report.
