Recently, CVSuite and its team of editors, designers, and data analysts paired up with WESTAF’s Public Art Archive to launch 6 Can’t-Miss Public Art Stops of the Southwest. The list showcases cities with public art collections that represent the promise and complexity of the region and that embrace the unique identity and diversity of the arts and people in the Southwest. This list is the third in a series of data-driven lists that profile and celebrate the arts, culture, and creativity of America’s most vital and vibrant places and spaces.
For this list, we wanted to highlight additional data available through WESTAF’s family of products and developed four criteria for the regions included:
- Each region has an extensive collection of public art available to explore within the Public Art Archive.
- Each region is part of the 13 WESTAF-region states.
- Each region can comfortably be driven to within 10 days.
- Each region is distinct from the others on the list.
Explore these six public art hotspots and learn about their unique creative economies virtually, utilizing CVSuite data. Then, plan a road trip and experience the Southwest’s art scene for yourself.
“We are eager to collaborate on projects that require deeper dives into the public art data that comprises the PAA database,” said Public Art Archive Manager Lori Goldstein. “It gives us a significant opportunity to explore the varied and expansive forms of public art designed to enrich and activate public spaces. We are excited to be part of a project that promotes public art as a lens through which to explore any particular place.”
